Honor Katherine McCormick Mellon
She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Thomas Edward Mellon, Sr..
Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Mellon was the beloved daughter of the late John A. and Honor Katherine Cullen McCormick.
Mrs. Mellon was a resident of Delaware County for over 40 years before moving to Richboro in 1996. She was an executive secretary with General Electric in Philadelphia for over 12 years. She was the former President of the Mother’s Club at St. Gabriel’s Church in Norwood and a communicant and member of the Women’s Guild of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Richboro. Mrs. Mellon was the Past President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Villages of Northampton. She was the “Spirit of Christmas” who provided countless memories to her family at the holidays. Mrs. Mellon will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband Thomas, Mrs. Mellon is survived by her dearest children and their spouses, Thomas E. Mellon, Jr. Esq. and Sara Webster, Esq. of Doylestown, Edward J. Mellon and Hongcheng Zhou of Gainesville, VA and The Honorable Robert J. Mellon and Deborah Romanski, Esq. of Richboro. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Marilyn Mellon of Doylestown and her siblings: Joan Hunter of Rosemont, The Honorable John M. McCormick of Phoenix, AZ, Mariann McCormick of Levittown, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 9:30AM until her Funeral Mass 10:30AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. Contributions in her memory may be made to Aid for Friends, 12271 Townsend Rd., Phila., PA 19154.
