David Paul Wilson
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Wilson was a resident of Newtown for the past 3 years. After graduating in 1955 from Frankford High school, Mr. Wilson joined the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wilson returned to North East Philadelphia after his service in the Army and became a member of the Philadelphia Fire Department as well as a husband in 1961.
His first assignment with the department was with Engine 2 and after that he moved throughout the city until his retirement in 1988 as Captain. In 1989 he moved to Bensalem, where he decided to become a school bus driver until 2005. In his leisure time Mr. Wilson enjoyed horse racing, fishing, politics, riding his bike, and above all time shared with his family.
Son of the late Jacob and Nevada Proudfoot Wilson and brother of the late Carolyn Melvin, Glenn and Richard Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Artur Wilson, his dear children and their spouses Donna DeLong and her husband Joseph of Newtown, David P. Wilson Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Bryn Mawr, PA, and Danielle Wilson of Newtown, PA, his brother Jacob Wilson, 3 sisters Barbara Wilson, Janet MacMurray, and Joyce Wilson. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren; Joseph, Michael, Taylor and Brooke.
Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954, and on Friday, September 15, 2006, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
