Philip A. Murphy, Sr.
Born in Camden, NJ, Mr. Murphy was a resident of Feasterville for 50 years and prior to that he resided in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Collingswood High School, Collingswood, NJ and LaSalle University, Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Murphy was the Vice President of Sales for over 35 years with Royal Factories in Philadelphia retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a communicant of Assumption B.V.M. Church in Feasterville. Phil, an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, had a keen sense of humor and a light-hearted disposition that touched everyone he met. His family meant the world to him.
Son of the late Joseph and Viola Andersen Murphy, he is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Alice A. Axten Murphy, his loving children and their spouses; Joanne and Robert Ramsey of Feasterville, PA, Philip A., Jr. and Michele Murphy of Wayne, PA, Maureen and Michael McBride of Berwyn, PA, Robert and Donna Murphy of Philadelphia, PA. Patricia and Robert Traverse of Chalfont, PA, Christine Murphy and her fiancée, Timothy Woolworth, of Portland, Maine, Kevin and Tammy Murphy of Doylestown, PA and Stephen and Patrice Murphy of Doylestown, PA. Also survived by his sister Elizabeth Coyle of Moorestown, NJ and 19 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday evening, January 28, 2005, from 6:30 to 9:00PM, and Saturday morning, January 29, 2005, from 9:00 AM to10:00AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd., (at Holland Road), Richboro. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00AM at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Bristol and Meadowbrook Rds., Feasterville. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
